The rooms at Merulana Star are simply furnished with private bathrooms, air conditioning, and an LCD TV. They have everything I need for a comfortable stay, including free WiFi and a safe. The bathrooms are clean and have rainfall showerheads, complimentary toiletries, and hair dryers. I really liked the cozy feel of the rooms and the convenient amenities provided.

Personally, I didn't find the refrigerator in the room necessary, but I understand that some guests might find it useful.

Everything was great, espessialy position in city. Close to all sights, underground and Termini, but not in it's region with lots of immirants. Room was much bigger then we've expected after comments and photos, maybe the biggest in whole hotel (number 4). Staff was extremely helpful, one of receptionists speaks English very well (for Rome). There was even fridge, armchair and hairdryer! And it's actually 1 star hotel, not B&B

Some minor things - like not a good drain in shower, and whole WC is small - there wasn't enough space to dry yourself with towel. One of two streets (via Merulana) was quite noisy - but the whole Rome is extremely noisy in nights.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, despite our language barrier. Location was excellent. Within walking distance of train station and Colesseum. We were also able to walk to Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps and pretty much all over the old town area. Metro was two blocks away for a ride to Vatican city.My son loved the vendor next door for a breakfast pastry and pizza.

Near all the exciting bars and restaurants, convenient airport pickup, free WiFi , and a safe deposit box to protect your overpriced souvenirs.

Oh well, I guess perfection doesn't exist in this world!

During my recent business trip to Rome, my director chose for us to stay at Merulana Star hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and facilities offered. The hotel provides a range of options for guests to indulge in relaxation, such as massage therapy and other spa services. Treating myself to a massage after a long day of meetings was the perfect way to unwind and recharge. The experienced therapists ensured that the experience was both enjoyable and rejuvenating, leaving me feeling refreshed for the next day.

Stayed for 4 nights, and although the majority of the staff on the front desk were friendly and helpful, some of them struggled with English.

Cute little and recently renovated place, I appreciated exceptionally nice personnel.

The location was good, overlooking city. The room was budget and cheap, included a flat-screen TV with cable channels, climate control, and a personal safe. Staying at the hotel was really nice, I would stay here again.

I chose Merulana Star because it is very close to the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, which I really wanted to visit. The fact that this smoke-free townhouse accommodation has tour/ticket assistance and a front-desk safe pleasantly surprised me. Additionally, I loved being able to quench my thirst with my favorite drink at the bar/lounge.

No handwash or shampoo, but it's not a big issue.

The location was perfect, very central, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The rooms are small and the mattresses are uncomfortable.

Only the location. Apenas a localização é boa. Mas o hotel é péssimo, em relação à qualidade dos quartos e dos funcionários. Chegar num quarto com cama e torneira quebrados e ter que pagar pelo conserto não foi uma atitude honesta do funcionário. Tamanho total do banheiro 77x205cm. Nunca mais voltar...

The Hotel Merulana Star was worse than we expected. Although it was simple, and we previously knew that (because of low prices), it was a really small bedroom. And the bathroom was tiny (very very small - shower 77x65cm + bathroom 140x77cm). It did not have a bath indeed, but the bathroom was so tiny that a person could barely move his body, arms and legs when he was inside it. The worst thing is that when we have just entered the bedroom, we discovered that one of the beds was broken. We asked the receptionist to change our bedroom, but he said it was impossible. So, we asked him to fix the bed (because we need it working for sleeping at night). We went out, and when we went back (we were tired) at night, he was still fixing it. So, we had to wait him at the stairs (as there were not any chairs at the reception desk). He eventually decided to change that bed, removing the broken one to another place. When we were doing the check out, we had a surprise: he asked us to pay for the service of fixing the bed, saying that we have broken it. We remembered him and explained that it was already broken when we just entered the room, but he did not listen to us. He was even very rude, impolite and we felt almost threatened. So, we had to pay it. Because of that kind of corrupted and unfair behaviour, we give all people a strong advice: do not go there. Avoid this place.

I chose Merulana Star because it is conveniently located near the Colosseum and other historic sites. One of the features that pleasantly surprised me was the tour/ticket assistance and front-desk safe. Additionally, I really liked the bar/lounge where I could enjoy my favorite drinks and the availability of to-go breakfasts.

Communication difficulties with staff. Smoke comes through bathroom vents.

It was very centrally located (about a 5 minute walk from the Colosseum) and the staff were very friendly. I was given a map and told the best way to get to all of the sights and which buses would bring me back to the hotel.

Although the bed was big and quite comfortable, the room itself and the bathroom were very small. There was no soap in the bathroom and you have to pay 5 euro per day to use the internet.

my room was neat and cheap and included central heating, a private safe, and multi-channel tv. everything was perfect, yet a few employees were not very helpful. the hotel had indeed an excellent location close to everything.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and always eager to help. Right from the start, they provided valuable information and directions to popular attractions. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities. The location was also great, with easy access to the Metro and some excellent restaurants nearby. I especially enjoyed the included breakfast at the coffee shop downstairs. this hotel offers excellent value for money and I would highly recommend it.

The only minor issue was some traffic noise in the morning.

The hotel was within walking distance of the main sites we wanted to visit. It was also close to public transportation when we wanted to go further than where we could walk. The hotel staff was helpful and polite. We were given a map and a good explanation (in English) of where the tourist spots were and how to get there. Right outside our door there were several sidewalk cafes that provided excellent food and service.

The room was small for the cost but the location was prime. We went to Rome to see the sites, not stay in our room, so it was fine. We would stay there again.
